Westfield Hydra 300 Air DriveAway Awning

The Westfield Hydra 320 Air DriveAway Awning is a model that has been around for a few years but, for the 2023 season, this inflatable Driveaway Awning has been dramatically improved. Even though the dimensions are the same as its predecessor, the whole shape of the awning has been tweaked to give increased usable standing room. The more vertical front and sides allow furniture to be put closer to the edge of the awning, giving you more living space from the same floor measurements. Many core features still remain in the Hydra Air, such as the lightweight 75D Hydradore SL fabric which is highly waterproof and durable.

The Westfield Hydra Air is available in three different fitting heights: a Low (180 – 210cm) for VW sized vans, a Mid (210-240cm) for Lowline Motorhomes/Panel Vans or a High (240 – 270cm) for bigger Motorhomes. Westfield have created a new versatile method of attaching the tunnel to the van by allowing the tunnel section to completely zip off from the awning. This has multiple benefits from being able to drive away without a fixing kit to being able to change the attachment height if you were to change your vehicle. Pitching the Hydra is still simple and easy, thanks to the AES inflatable beam system in the awning, one person can easily pitch the awning within 10 minutes.

Another stand-out difference with the Hydra is that the groundsheet is fully removeable. The bath tub groundsheet can easily be Velcroed in and out, but when it is attached to the awning it gives the feel of a fully sewn-in groundsheet, so much so it isn’t obvious to an untrained eye. Crystal clear windows are one thing this awning has in buckets – not only can you get a panoramic view but, when required, you can toggle-up the curtains to get complete privacy. The front door of the awning can also be made into a canopy by purchasing some additional king poles.
